Daylight Saving Time

Are you prepared for daylight saving time? It is time to turn your clocks ahead one hour to spring into the new season. Early Sunday morning of March 8th,  at 2:00 AM, the clock will move forward to to 3:00 AM, beginning daylight saving time. To help you adjust to the time change, keep these do’s and don’ts in mind.

Do:

  • Stay safe on the road. Being sleep deprived can lead to very dangerous situations on the road.
  • Take it easy on the weekends. Stick to your normal sleep schedule on weekends to help stay with your normal sleep routine.
  • Drink plenty of liquids. Staying hydrated will help you feel better and stay awake through the day.

Don’t:

  • Eat a large meal right before bed. A full stomach may make you feel tired, but it can actually lead to disrupted sleep during the night.
  • Overdo it at the gym. A moderate amount of exercise can help you sleep better, but pushing yourself too much can have the opposite effect.
  • Use your computer in bed. Your bedroom should be a sanctuary that helps you relax. The stress that comes along with doing work on your laptop can lead to a restless night’s sleep.
