Summer Heat Safety

Even as fall gets closer and closer, the temperatures outside are still pushing to the top of the thermometer. With the hot outside temperatures, it is important to make sure that you keep your pets and children safe by never leaving them in a car. Keep these summer heat safety tips in mind to help avoid a tragedy this season.

  • Never leave your children or pets in a car, even if the windows are down and it is just for a minute.
  • Before you leave your vehicle, always check the front and back seats to make sure that everyone is out of the car.
  • Put your briefcase or purse in the back seat of your car to help you remember to check the back seat.
  • Always lock your car when it is parked so that children do not get into the vehicle and lock themselves in.
  • If you cannot find your pet or child, immediately check your car, including the trunk.
  • If you see a child or a pet that is left in a car, immediately call 911 for help.
