It will put your other Valentine’s Day recipes to shame! To make it, you will need:

  • 1 package of devil’s food cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/3 cups of strong brewed coffee
  • 1/2 cup of canola oil
  • Chocolate frosting

For The Filling:

  • 8 oz. of chopped bittersweet chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of strong brewed coffee
  • 3 beaten egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons of thawed orange juice concentrate
  • 2 tablespoons of Nutella
  • 1 tablespoon of heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 cups of whipped topping

Preheat your oven to 350. Line 24 muffin cups.

Mix cake mix, eggs, coffee, and oil until smooth. Fill each muffin cup 2/3 full of the mixture. Bake for 18-22 minutes. Let cool completely.

Meanwhile, melt chocolate with sugar and three tablespoons of coffee in a double boiler, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Whisk in the egg yolks and stir for 5 minutes.

Divide the mixture into three bowls; mix orange juice concentrate into one, Nutella and cream into the second, and remaining coffee into the third. Add ½ cup of whipped topping into each bowl. Core cupcakes and fill eight of each with each flavor of filling. Frost and enjoy. Yum!
