January Has Some Special Days to Celebrate Too!
When you think of holidays, you typically don’t think of January as having much to celebrate, except of course, New Year’s Day. Usually we remember the “big” dates like Christmas, New Year’s, 4th of July, Mothers and Fathers Days, Veterans Day. But January also has a very important date to recognize and one you can have some fun with:
January 19th – Martin Luther King’s Birthday
What better way to celebrate one of the most influential men of the Civil Rights movement and our country’s history than acknowledging Martin Luther King Jr’s. birth date. His peaceful movement to aid America in recognizing all people’s inalienable rights was indeed monumental. Happy Birthday on January 19th and thank you!
January 25th _ Opposite Day
Have some fun with this little-known special day. Switch up your day in a fun way by doing just the opposite of what you would normally do and what friends and family would expect you to do. For example, you’re a meticulous dresser – wear your pj’s out to dinner. You don’t wear glasses, get some of the clear glass ones and wear them! You’re normally very prompt; be fashionably late. Use your imagination and have some fun – you can always blame it on National Opposite Day!
